Over the last couple of weeks my four friends and I have been working on a movie. The movie is based on the life of a cyber bullying victim. We are going to Melbourne this week to attend a celebration day for “learning online”, it’s at the MCG. We’re going to Melbourne on the train on Wednesday afternoon, then staying the night in Melbourne before coming home on Thursday night.

Hello everyone. I am going to add my highlights and low lights of my past week.

Low lights:
This is my very first diary entry, we have been asked by our ICT teacher to create this page and write on it once weekly. We have to write about what we’ve been doing in our lives and what we’re currently learning at school.
Recently in English we have been working on writing an argument. The topic of this argument is “Homework should not be necessary”. I like this topic, because I believe it’s very true and I don’t like homework at all! During my speech I talked about some of the main reasons I think we should not have homework, which included: out of school sporting activities; not having the required technology; wanting to socialise; having relaxation time; and six hours of being at school is enough learning for one day.
During maths we have been doing a statistics assignment, it’s been a bit difficult but I’m nearly finished.
On the Sunday just passed my soccer team had our second game of the season. Both of the teams we played were very good and we most unfortunately lost both games.
This coming Sunday is my 14thbirthday. I am meant to be playing soccer in Ballarat, but my family is going to Geelong then to Melbourne. Thursday night my older sister is graduating from 5 years at Deakin University, doing an architecture course.

At our school we have a class called Health. It’s basically teaching us about things in life. The unit we’re doing at the moment is Drugs and Alcohol. Today in Health we experimented with pouring what we think are average sized drinks for different alcohols. The people who had a go did pretty well, getting really close to the standard drink levels.
Today for ICT we’ve been asked to find a joke that we like and post it on our blogs. I found my joke at http://plainjokes.com/index.php?topic=101.0
This is the joke:
There was once a young man who, in his youth, professed his desire become a great writer.
When asked to define “great” he said, “I want to write stuff that the whole world will read, stuff that people will react to on a truly emotional level, stuff that will make them scream, cry, howl in pain and anger!”
He now works for Microsoft, writing error messages.
Last week at school was a pretty good week for me. We got our new net books (mini laptops) so we can now use those for most of our classes. Then we had our outer school swimming day. I didn’t go into any events but my friends and I had great fun taking pictures and cheering on other Hawkesdale students. This coming weekend is Labour day holiday, so the Port Fairy Folk Festival is on. I usually don’t go and I don’t think I’ll go this year. My friends and I have planned a movie marathon instead.
This is a photo of my very own palm.
